PREVFRETES – FREIGHT FORECAST SYSTEM

This system generates freight rate forecasts for oil products traveling through roadways, waterways, and railroads at projection horizons of up to five years. In order to come up with these results, the system considers several variables that affect the final value of the freight.

The system calculates freight values practiced in the market and surveys transportation costs, which are calculated for different scenarios and discriminated through detailed cost sheets.

The PrevFretes system uses information processing for assisting in the negotiation of contracts with carriers /operators as well as in strategic decisions, such as the location of refineries and distribution centers. The results can be presented in graphs, tables and cost-detailing spreadsheets. For the visualization of the region and segment where the freight is passing through, the system uses GIS tools.
