VESSEL TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION SYSTEM

This project is linked to the Secretariat of Ports (SEP) and the activities include the realization of study, analysis, and technical specification of the main elements involved in the implementation of the Vessel Traffic Management and Information System (VTMIS) as well as its planning, monitoring, and installation in public port areas.

The VTMIS is an electronic aid-to-navigation capable of real-time monitoring of waterborne traffic, enhancing navigational safety and environmental protection through the identification, monitoring, and planning of vessel movement. Moreover, the release of information and assistance to navigators assists in increasing the efficiency of maritime traffic and effectiveness of port activities.
