REGIONAL PASSENGER RAIL LINES – CAXIAS DO SUL (RS) TO BENTO GONÇALVES (RS)

This rail revitalization project aimed at evaluating the technical and economic feasibility, along with the socio-environmental benefits that would come as a result of the deployment of rail passenger transportation in a stretch of 66 kilometers connecting the cities of Caxias do Sul (RS) and Bento Gonçalves (RS).

An assessment of the influence of other modes of transportation in these areas was made aiming at verifying if a new rail passenger line would be competitive with them. Thus, alternatives were proposed for the tracing and operation of the lines with the intention of presenting the best possible operational and commercial conditions.
