SIAM – MARKET LOGISTICS ANALYSIS SYSTEM

It consists of a tool for decision support regarding the distribution of fuels and oil products. This system allows the comparison among scenarios, whether real or hypothetical, involving solutions in transportation networks for geographically distributed markets. The SIAM has been used by the logistics department of Petrobras since 1998.

The scenarios are based on the lowest cost, demand, and capacity, in a way that starting from that, it seeks to optimize decision-making regarding distribution of fuel, quantity produced in the refineries, pricing, cities served, and other variables involved. The system also promotes a number of reports and supporting information for the user.
