Integrated Automated Positioning System – PIAF

DNIT Integrated Automated Positioning System (PIAF)

The proposal of a model and the preparation of draft new weighing stations are part of the Term of Cooperation established between LabTrans / UFSC and DNIT (TC 497/2012), with the purpose of updating the conception regarding: general architecture; to geometry; the use of new paving technology; new vehicle configurations; and also to new weighing systems.

The new model called the Integrated Automated Inspection Station (PIAF) uses Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) weighing systems and consists of: Track Control Station (ECP); leakage control; and the supervisory post. In addition, the model comprises the use of integrated automated systems for the measurement of weight and dimensions of vehicles, in addition, the physical presence of the transit authority or an agent at the place of measurement is dispensed with, since the Center Operational Control (CCO) executes the transmission of audio, video and data.

In this project, the product “Operation model and preliminary project of PIAF and CCO” was developed, in addition to DNIT’s notices for 35 PIAFs, individually composed by 4 Volumes: Preliminary Studies; Plants and Technical Drawings; Quantitative, Execution Plan and Physical Schedule; and Operation.
