Study on Cost and Revenue Breakdown for Proposal of the Price Calculation Methodology to Economic and Financial Break-even Point
Study on cost and revenue breakdown for proposal of the Price Calculation Methodology to Economic and Financial break-even point in providing waterborne longitudinal passenger transport and mixed in inland navigation
A methodology was developed for calculating the reference price for the Longitudinal Transportation of Passengers and Freight (mixed):
– assessment of the fairness of the prices charged by the authorized longitudinal and mixed passenger services;
– knowledge of information and the structure of costs and revenues of companies authorized to transport, aiming at improving the regulatory quality of ANTAQ, planning public policies for the sector, and expanding the academic and scientific production related to the subject; and
– generation of technical and scientific knowledge about the water transport sector.
The validation of the proposed methodology was done by means of a case study, presenting a survey of the costs, revenues and prices involved in the provision of service in the longitudinal lines of passengers and mixed: Belém-Macapá; Belém-Manaus and Manaus-Tabatinga.
