Catalog of Solutions Reference for Signaling Deployment

The Catalog of Referential Solutions for Signalization Implementation was developed as a Complementary Product to the Term of Technical Cooperation – 1041/2010, signed between DNIT and UFSC.

In March 2012, specifically, after several meetings between the technical team of LabTrans / UFSC and the technicians of the General Coordination of Road Operations of DNIT – CGPERT, consultants of the area and technical members of the Brazilian Committee of Transport and Traffic – CB-16 / ABNT, the Reference Catalog of Solutions for Signaling Deployment was published. The document details the necessary procedures for the elaboration of signaling projects on highways, considering: The Manuals of Signaling of the National Traffic Council – CONTRAN; the Brazilian Tourist Signage Guide – DNIT; the Brazilian Traffic Code and its resolutions; the ABNT technical standards updated; as well as physical and operational information of the sections under analysis and the characteristics of the border regions to these highways.

The Catalog played an important role in defining the technical specifications of the Brazilian Road Safety and Security Program – BR-Legal Program, which seeks to improve road safety in the 55,000 kilometers of federal highways, under the jurisdiction of DNIT. In addition to setting higher standards for signaling performance, BR-Legal introduced the concept of performance in the execution of services, using the most modern techniques in the industry.
